John is the Managing Partner and Chairman of the Investment Committee.
Prior to founding Metric Capital Partners, John was a partner at TowerBrook Capital Partners where he invested in European private equity transactions. Prior to joining TowerBrook, he was the Global Head of Corporate Credit at UBS Investment Bank, based in London, and also served as a member of the Investment Banking Global Management Committee.
Previously, John served as a senior member of the Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital Leveraged Finance teams and prior to that he invested in private equity transactions for Bankers Trust.
John holds a BSc, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Partner and Member of the Investment Committee
Giovanni is a Partner of the firm and member of the Investment Committee. He also oversees the firm’s origination effort.
Prior to founding Metric Capital Partners, Giovanni was at Barclays Capital in London where he held primary coverage and transaction origination responsibilities over a variety of European and Middle Eastern private equity firms.
Prior to joining Barclays Capital, he was a Director in the Leveraged Finance and Debt Advisory group of UBS Investment Bank, based in London, where he oversaw the group’s activities in Southern Europe, Middle East and South Africa covering the entire spectrum of leveraged products (loans, bonds and mezzanine) as well as debt and restructuring advisory.
Giovanni holds a Laurea (magna cum laude) in Economics from “Universita’ Federico II” and an MBA from IESE Business School. He speaks English, Italian, Spanish and Danish.
Partner and Member of the Investment Committee
Peter is a Partner of the firm and manages its investor relations function, as well as being a member of its Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Metric Capital Partners, Peter served as Managing Director in charge of Stakeholder Relationships for Terra Firma Capital Partners. In his role, he focussed on Terra Firma’s relationships with investors, regulators, governments, banks and media as well as having an active role in Terra Firma’s investment committee and business development activity.
Previously, Peter was the Global Managing Partner of Clifford Chance, one of the world’s leading international law firms with over 3,500 lawyers in 30 offices. During his 36 years tenure with Clifford Chance, Peter became a trusted adviser to the CEOs of some of the world’s largest companies and oversaw Clifford Chance’s best ever financial performance in 2005-2006.
Peter holds a BA (hons) in Economics and History from the University of Exeter.
Peter is a Non-Executive Director of Circle Holdings Plc and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Madrid Business School.
David has been involved in Investment Banking and Private Equity since 2004. He was a member of the Deutsche Bank Corporate Finance and European Leveraged Finance Team in Frankfurt and London. He then joined MatlinPatterson, focusing on credit and control opportunities in the UK, German and French markets. He has in-depth restructuring experience and has served on management and supervisory boards as investor representative.
Prior to joining Metric Capital Partners, David was based at MatlinPatterson’s New York headquarters, covering both European and North American credits, with a focus on financial institutions. David also has experience in the German renewable energy market, with investments in a solar engineering firm and several photovoltaic installations.
David graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Economics. He speaks English, German, French and Japanese
Prior to joining Metric Capital Partners, Phil was a Partner at Kelso Place Asset Management, a UK private equity investor in underperforming businesses.
From 2002 to 2009, Phil was the CEO and Managing Director of Sun European Partners, LLP, a leading European private equity investor in operational turnarounds and distressed European businesses.
Phil spent twelve years, from 1991 to 2003, with Lehman Brothers where, most recently, he was Managing Director and Co-head of the firm’s European telecommunications practice. Phil also served with Chemical Bank from 1986 to 1989 in Europe and the United States in Leveraged Finance.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with First Class Honours, from the London School of Economics and Political Science and his Masters of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
Prior to joining Metric Capital Partners, Alastair was a Principal at TowerBrook Capital Partners in London. At TowerBrook, Alastair invested in European private equity transactions and worked on a number of investments across sectors/geographies/sizes. Prior to joining TowerBrook Capital Partners in 2009, Alastair was in the investment banking division at UBS, originally in the Consumer & Retail team and then in the Leveraged Finance team.
Alastair has a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bjorn Tessiore joined Metric Capital Partners as Investment Associate in September 2012.
Prior to joining Metric, Bjorn was a member of the investment team at RiverRock ECP, a European Alternative Asset Manager. During his time at RiverRock he focused on European illiquid credit investments and public equities.
Bjorn graduated from ESCP-EAP in Paris with a Diplome de Grande Ecole in Management. He speaks English, Norwegian, Italian and French.
Devyani joined Metric Capital Partners in April 2013.
Prior to joining Metric, Devyani held various management roles in manufacturing and retail businesses, gaining significant experience in mid-market operations.
She started her career at Intel, where she was a member of the engineering and design team for low power microprocessors used in mobile devices.
Devyani holds a B.E. in Computer Science from BITS Pilani, M.S. in Computer Engineering from Columbia University and an M.B.A. from London Business School.
Barbara Roversi joined MCP as Investment Associate in January 2014.
Prior to joining MCP, Barbara was a Senior Associate at Alvarez & Marsal, focusing on performance improvement and turnaround advisory. Before that, she worked as a Senior Analyst with Banca Leonardo Spa with the M&A and debt restructuring team, and Deutsche Bank with the private equity team.
Barbara holds an MBA from Insead and a MSc (magna cum laude) from Universita’ Bocconi in Milan, Italy.
Lukas joined Metric Capital Partners as an Analyst in June 2014.
Prior to joining Metric, Lukas spent time with Wolf Theiss Attorneys at Law in project finance and Allianz Global Investors in portfolio management. Lukas graduated from the University of Oxford with an MSc in Law and Finance (distinction). He also holds an LLB in Business Law and a BSc in Finance and Accounting from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Ben joined Metric Capital Partners as an Investment Associate in July 2016.
Prior to joining Metric, Ben was an Associate at Moelis & Company, working across both M&A and restructuring. Before that, he worked as a Senior Associate at PwC in the Transaction Services and Assurance departments. Ben holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge.
Miro joined Metric Capital in 2017. Prior to joining Metric Capital, he was an Associate at the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs for two years where he primarily focused on Technology, Media & Telecom and Industrials. Prior to that, Miro was an Analyst at Deutsche Bank for two years originally in the Nordic M&A team and then in the Leveraged Finance team.
He graduated from Copenhagen Business School with a M.Sc. degree in Finance and Strategic Management and B.Sc. Degree in Economics and Business Administration. He speaks English and Danish.
Tijana joined Metric Capital Partners as an Investment Associate in November 2017.
Prior to joining Metric Capital, Tijana was an Associate at Greenhill & Co., a global independent investment bank. During her time at Greenhill she focused on M&A and restructuring transactions across a variety of sectors.
Tijana holds a BSc in Management from Warwick Business School. She speaks English and Serbo-Croatian.
Chairman and member of the Investment Committee
John Connolly is the Chairman of Metric Capital and member of its Investment Committee.
John was the former Global Chairman of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited and the Senior Partner and CEO of Deloitte UK. John also chaired the Deloitte Global Corporate Responsibility Council.
John spent his entire career with Deloitte holding a wide range of senior leadership positions in the UK and internationally. By background, John was a Corporate Finance Partner and Advisory Partner for a number of the firm’s most prominent clients.
John is also Chairman of AMEC plc, Ingeus UK, a member of the International Business Advisory Council London, the International Business Advisory Council Rome, the Board of Trustees of the International Business Leaders Forum, the CBI Advisory Board, the Governing Body of the London Business School, the British American Business International Advisory Board and a member of the Board in the World Economic Forum Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI). He is also a member of one of the NSPCCs Charity Boards.
Diego focuses on the operational improvement of the companies in Metric’s portfolio. Prior to joining Metric, Diego managed the turnaround of and successful exit from the fourth largest European manufacturer of electric motors for white goods. He was also the President of Ana Holding, one of Romania’s largest business conglomerates. Before that, he was the Head of Operations at the McKinsey Investment Office, the fund that manages McKinsey & Co.’s pension plan and its partners’ contributions. Before that he was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey & Co. based in New York. Diego holds a dual degree MBA (Cum Laude)/Master in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a B.Sc. in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.
Robert focuses on the operational improvement of the companies in Metric’s portfolio.
Prior to joining Metric, Robert was Investment Director at BlueGem Capital Partners, a pan-European private equity firm, with a focus on portfolio management. Before that, Robert was an Investment Director at Kelso Place Asset Management, a UK private equity investor in underperforming businesses, and associate in the London office of Summit Partners, a US growth equity firm.
Robert started his career at JPMorgan, advising clients on pan-European transactions in both the Telecoms, Media and Technology M&A and Debt Capital Markets teams.
Robert holds an MSc in Business (Finance major) from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
Kavita Rai joined Metric Capital Partners as Financial Controller in September 2014.
Prior to joining Metric, Kavita was a member of the Client Services team at Augentius, a leading Private Equity and Real Estate administrator. During her time at Augentius, she gained experience working on a range of funds across different asset classes and worked on the Metric account for the final 2 years.
Kavita graduated from the University of Reading with a BA in Accounting and Management and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Sarfraz joined the Finance team in July 2016 as Financial Controller.
Sarfraz has over three years of experience as a member of the Client Services team at Augentius where he worked on a wide portfolio of clients. Sarfraz graduated from the University of Leicester with a BSc in Economics and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Account
Karolina joined Metric in August 2016.
Prior joining Metric, Karolina worked as an Office Manager for a Financial Advisor and Mortgage Broker. Before that, she worked for Bartlett Mitchell, a contract catering company managing flagship contracts and mobilizing new sites.
Karolina holds a BA (Hons) in Administrative Law from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland.
Prior to joining Metric Capital Partners, Erwin was a Senior Advisor at Richmond Park Partners, an independent advisory firm in London.
Before that Erwin was a Managing Director and the Head of Northern Europe Investment Banking Advisory at Barclays Capital.
Prior to joining Barclays Capital, he was a Managing Director and responsible for the Strategic Transactions Group at HSBC Global Banking. He also served as a member of the HBSC Global Banking management team for Europe.
Previously, Erwin served with Merrill Lynch in their global M&A group. He started his professional career at MeesPierson in The Netherlands.
Erwin holds an MSc in Economics from Groningen University in the Netherlands..
Prior to joining Metric Capital Partners, Louis was a Vice-President at Bpifrance, the French sovereign fund, where he was part of the Mid & Large Caps team, investing in listed and private French companies across a wide range of sectors / industries.
Prior to joining Bpifrance in 2011, Louis was at Lazard, first focusing on TMT and then as part of the generalist team, advising clients on M&A transactions in Europe and North Africa.
Before that, Louis also worked at Citi in London as well as at Oddo BHF in Paris.
Louis holds an MSc in Finance & Strategy from SciencesPo Paris, where he is now a teacher.
Miguel joined Metric Capital Partners in 2017 as Investment Director and opened the MCP Madrid office.
Prior to joining Metric, Miguel was the Head of HIG Whitehorse in Iberia, being responsible for originating and executing primary financing for SME in Spain and Portugal.
Before that, Miguel was part of the Debt & Capital Advisory at PwC Spain. During his time at PwC he focused on the advisory to alternative investment funds to originate and execute transactions with Spanish SME.
Previously, Miguel served as an associate in the Acquisition Finance Department at BBVA in New York. He started his career in the Structured Finance Department at Banco Popular in Madrid.
Sebastian joined Metric Capital Partners in 2018 as an Investment Director and opened the MCP Munich office.
Prior to joining Metric, Sebastian was an Investment Professional at EQT Partners since 2015, investing in large and mid-cap companies. Before that, Sebastian worked at A.T. Kearney since 2009, advising clients on strategy, restructuring and M&A projects
Sebastian holds a PhD in Finance and a Diploma in Physics from Technical University Munich. Furthermore, he holds an Honors Degree in Technology Management from the Center for Digital Technology & Management.
