John is the Managing Partner and Chairman of the Investment Committee.
Prior to founding Metric, John was a partner at TowerBrook Capital Partners where he invested in European private equity transactions. Prior to joining TowerBrook, he was the Global Head of Corporate Credit at UBS Investment Bank, based in London, and also served as a member of the Investment Banking Global Management Committee.
Previously, John served as a senior member of the Deutsche Bank and Barclays Capital Leveraged Finance teams and prior to that he invested in private equity transactions for Bankers Trust.
John holds a BSc, magna cum laude, from the University of Southern California and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Partner and Member of the Investment Committee
Giovanni is a Partner of the firm and member of the Investment Committee. He also oversees the firm’s origination effort.
Prior to founding Metric, Giovanni was at Barclays Capital in London where he held primary coverage and transaction origination responsibilities over a variety of European and Middle Eastern private equity firms.
Prior to joining Barclays Capital, he was a Director in the Leveraged Finance and Debt Advisory group of UBS Investment Bank, based in London, where he oversaw the group’s activities in Southern Europe, Middle East and South Africa covering the entire spectrum of leveraged products (loans, bonds and mezzanine) as well as debt and restructuring advisory.
Giovanni holds a Laurea (magna cum laude) in Economics from “Universita’ Federico II” and an MBA from IESE Business School. He speaks English, Italian, Spanish and Danish.
Partner and Member of the Investment Committee
Peter is a Partner of the firm and manages its investor relations function, as well as being a member of its Investment Committee.
Prior to joining Metric, Peter served as Managing Director in charge of Stakeholder Relationships for Terra Firma Capital Partners. In his role, he focussed on Terra Firma’s relationships with investors, regulators, governments, banks and media as well as having an active role in Terra Firma’s investment committee and business development activity.
Previously, Peter was the Global Managing Partner of Clifford Chance, one of the world’s leading international law firms with over 3,500 lawyers in 30 offices. During his 36 years tenure with Clifford Chance, Peter became a trusted adviser to the CEOs of some of the world’s largest companies and oversaw Clifford Chance’s best ever financial performance in 2005-2006.
Peter holds a BA (hons) in Economics and History from the University of Exeter.
Peter is a Non-Executive Director of Circle Holdings Plc and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Madrid Business School.
Prior to joining Metric, Phil was a Partner at Kelso Place Asset Management, a UK private equity investor in underperforming businesses.
From 2002 to 2009, Phil was the CEO and Managing Director of Sun European Partners, LLP, a leading European private equity investor in operational turnarounds and distressed European businesses.
Phil spent twelve years, from 1991 to 2003, with Lehman Brothers where, most recently, he was Managing Director and Co-head of the firm’s European telecommunications practice. Phil also served with Chemical Bank from 1986 to 1989 in Europe and the United States in Leveraged Finance.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with First Class Honours, from the London School of Economics and Political Science and his Masters of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business, New York University.
Prior to joining Metric, Alastair was a Principal at TowerBrook Capital Partners in London. At TowerBrook, Alastair invested in European private equity transactions and worked on a number of investments across sectors/geographies/sizes. Prior to joining TowerBrook Capital Partners in 2009, Alastair was in the investment banking division at UBS, originally in the Consumer & Retail team and then in the Leveraged Finance team.
Alastair has a BA in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
Bjorn Tessiore joined Metric as Investment Associate in September 2012.
Prior to joining Metric, Bjorn was a member of the investment team at RiverRock ECP, a European Alternative Asset Manager. During his time at RiverRock he focused on European illiquid credit investments and public equities.
Bjorn graduated from ESCP-EAP in Paris with a Diplome de Grande Ecole in Management. He speaks English, Norwegian, Italian and French.
Diego focuses on the operational improvement of the companies in Metric’s portfolio. Prior to joining Metric, Diego managed the turnaround of and successful exit from the fourth largest European manufacturer of electric motors for white goods. He was also the President of Ana Holding, one of Romania’s largest business conglomerates. Before that, he was the Head of Operations at the McKinsey Investment Office, the fund that manages McKinsey & Co.’s pension plan and its partners’ contributions. Before that he was a senior engagement manager at McKinsey & Co. based in New York. Diego holds a dual degree MBA (Cum Laude)/Master in International Affairs from Columbia University, and a B.Sc. in Economics from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia.
Robert focuses on the operational improvement of the companies in Metric’s portfolio.
Prior to joining Metric, Robert was Investment Director at BlueGem Capital Partners, a pan-European private equity firm, with a focus on portfolio management. Before that, Robert was an Investment Director at Kelso Place Asset Management, a UK private equity investor in underperforming businesses, and associate in the London office of Summit Partners, a US growth equity firm.
Robert started his career at JPMorgan, advising clients on pan-European transactions in both the Telecoms, Media and Technology M&A and Debt Capital Markets teams.
Robert holds an MSc in Business (Finance major) from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
George joined Metric in 2019 and focuses on the operational improvement of the companies in Metric’s portfolio.
Prior to joining Metric, George was a Manager in EY’s mid-market private equity value creation team where he advised on pre-deal due diligence projects and post-deal strategy and operational improvement initiatives.
George holds an MChem in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Carl joined Metric in 2019.
Prior to joining Metric, Carl was an Investment Associate at the Bronfman Family Office. Prior to that, Carl was an Associate in the Consumer, Retail & Leisure M&A team at Rothschild in London.
Carl has a BSc in Mathematics & Economics International from the University of Leeds.
Alistair joined Metric in May 2022.
Prior to joining Metric, Alistair was an Associate in the Industrials team at Credit Suisse in London.
Alistair has an Advanced Diploma in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a BEng in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham.
Alex joined Metric in May 2022.
Prior to joining Metric, Alex was an Associate Director in the Healthcare Investment Banking team at UBS in London. Prior to that, he was part of the Real Estate, Leisure and Lodging team at UBS.
Alex holds a Master in Banking and Finance from University of St.Gallen in Switzerland. He speaks English and Romanian.
Lukas joined Metric in May 2022.
Prior to joining Metric, Lukas worked as an Investment Banking Analyst in the Chemicals and Real Estate teams at Evercore in London.
Lukas holds an MSc in Finance from Esade Business School and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Regensburg.
Mehr joined Metric in May 2021.
Prior to joining Metric, Mehr worked in the Capital Solutions Group at Stifel. During her time at Stifel she focused on providing public and private financing solutions to mid-cap companies.
Mehr holds a BSc in Government and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Joana joined Metric in May 2022.
Prior to joining Metric, Joana worked as a graduate investment analyst in the active equities team at Legal & General in London.
Joana holds a BSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Warwick.

Prior to joining Metric, Laszlo worked as an Investment Banking Analyst intern at UBS.

Chairman and member of the Investment Committee
John P Connolly is Chairman of Metric and a member of its Investment Committee. He is currently Chairman of UK based Interpath Advisory (bought out of KPMG), international Investment Management and Family Office business, Stonehage Fleming Group; and US based Eisner Advisory Group. John also owns a beautiful country pub in the South Downs National Park.
In the last 12 years, John’s primary focus has been in the Private Equity Sector where he has worked with a range of PE firms and led a number of exits. He was the architect and founder of PE backed Azets/Cogital in 2016. John was also Chairman of FTSE companies Amec Foster Wheeler plc (for 6 years until sale to Wood Group) and G4S plc (for 9 years until sale to Allied Universal). He chaired the Board of Trustees of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and the Finance Committee of The London Business School. In 2008, John was named in The Times Power 100 and as Personality of the Year in the Accountancy Age Awards.
Prior to this, John had a longstanding career in Deloitte and stepped down from his roles as Global Board Chairman and UK CEO in 2011.
Nicole is the General Counsel of Metric and oversees the legal function within the firm. She initially joined Metric in February 2020 on secondment from White and Case LLP and become a permanent member of the team in Q4 2020.
Prior to joining Metric, Nicole was an elected partner at White and Case LLP where she specialized in advising private equity institutions, infrastructure funds and management teams on private equity transactions, with a focus on cross-border deals with complex structuring, co-investment and equity arrangements. Prior to joining Metric, Nicole built up significant in-house experience via strategic secondments to key firm clients such as Strategic Value Partners and Arle Capital Partners.
Prior to joining White and Case, Nicole trained and qualified at magic circle firm Linklaters. She also holds an LLB from Kings College London.
Ben joined Metric as Counsel in November 2021.
Prior to Metric, Ben worked at Cross Ocean Partners, an investment adviser focussing on a broad range of credit assets. While at Cross Ocean Partners, he advised on a range of legal, regulatory and compliance issues in relation to the establishment and operation of investment funds.
Ben holds an LLB from Newcastle University and an LLM in International Commercial Law from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is an unregistered barrister and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2013.
Kishan joined Metric in June 2020 as Finance Director.
Prior to joining Metric, Kishan was the European Head of Finance at Cross Ocean Partners, an investment adviser which focusses on investing in a broad range of credit related assets.
Kishan started his career at PwC where he successfully qualified as a Chartered Accountant.
Kishan holds a BA (hons) in Finance, Accounting and Management from the University of Nottingham.

Sarfraz joined the Finance team in July 2016 as Financial Controller.
Sarfraz has over three years of experience as a member of the Client Services team at Augentius where he worked on a wide portfolio of clients. Sarfraz graduated from the University of Leicester with a BSc in Economics and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Wesley joined the Finance team at Metric in November 2022 as Corporate Controller.
Prior to joining Metric, Wesley has over eight years of experience as a member of the Business Services team at Buzzacott LLP where he managed his own portfolio of established FCA regulated clients including asset managers, investment advisers, broker dealers and private equity companies.
Wesley is a qualified Chartered Accountant and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Karolina joined Metric in August 2016.
Prior joining Metric, Karolina worked as an Office Manager for a Financial Advisor and Mortgage Broker. Before that, she worked for Bartlett Mitchell, a contract catering company managing flagship contracts and mobilizing new sites.
Karolina holds a BA (Hons) in Administrative Law from Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun, Poland.
Monika joined Metric as a Team Assistant in April 2019.
Prior to joining Metric, Monika was working in London for global financial organizations such as HSBC and Bank of America/Meryll Lynch. Monika graduated from Warsaw University with BA (Hons) in Tourism and Hotel Management. She speaks English, Polish and Russian.
Prior to joining Metric, Erwin was a Senior Advisor at Richmond Park Partners, an independent advisory firm in London.
Before that Erwin was a Managing Director and the Head of Northern Europe Investment Banking Advisory at Barclays Capital.
Prior to joining Barclays Capital, he was a Managing Director and responsible for the Strategic Transactions Group at HSBC Global Banking. He also served as a member of the HBSC Global Banking management team for Europe.
Previously, Erwin served with Merrill Lynch in their global M&A group. He started his professional career at MeesPierson in The Netherlands.
Erwin holds an MSc in Economics from Groningen University in the Netherlands..
Prior to joining Metric, Louis was a Vice-President at Bpifrance, the French sovereign fund, where he was part of the Mid & Large Caps team, investing in listed and private French companies across a wide range of sectors / industries.
Prior to joining Bpifrance in 2011, Louis was at Lazard, first focusing on TMT and then as part of the generalist team, advising clients on M&A transactions in Europe and North Africa.
Before that, Louis also worked at Citi in London as well as at Oddo BHF in Paris.
Louis holds an MSc in Finance & Strategy from SciencesPo Paris, where he is now a teacher.
Miguel joined Metric in 2017 as Investment Director and opened the MCP Madrid office.
Prior to joining Metric, Miguel was the Head of HIG Whitehorse in Iberia, being responsible for originating and executing primary financing for SME in Spain and Portugal.
Before that, Miguel was part of the Debt & Capital Advisory at PwC Spain. During his time at PwC he focused on the advisory to alternative investment funds to originate and execute transactions with Spanish SME.
Previously, Miguel served as an associate in the Acquisition Finance Department at BBVA in New York. He started his career in the Structured Finance Department at Banco Popular in Madrid.
Sebastian joined Metric in 2018 as an Investment Director and opened the MCP Munich office.
Prior to joining Metric, Sebastian was an Investment Professional at EQT Partners since 2015, investing in large and mid-cap companies. Before that, Sebastian worked at A.T. Kearney since 2009, advising clients on strategy, restructuring and M&A projects
Sebastian holds a PhD in Finance and a Diploma in Physics from Technical University Munich. Furthermore, he holds an Honors Degree in Technology Management from the Center for Digital Technology & Management.
Lars joined Metric in 2019 as an Investment Director and opened the MCP Stockholm office.
Prior to joining Metric, Lars was a partner and head of European origination at the Riverside Company, an international private equity investor in the lower end of the mid-market.
Before joining Riverside in 2007, Lars spent more than 10 years in private equity and M&A advisory, both as founder of an M&A advisory business in Stockholm but also at UBS Capital, the private equity arm of UBS, in London and at Arthur Andersen and Coopers & Lybrand in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and in Stockholm, Sweden.
Lars holds an M.Sc. in Financial Economics and Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.
Nicolas joined Metric as an Investment Associate in July 2020.
Prior to joining Metric, Nicolas was Manager in the M&A Corporate Development team at Fleetcor Technologies for both the European and South-East Asian regions. Prior to that, he was a Senior Analyst in the Restructuring and Special Situations team at PJT Partners in London.
Nicolas holds an MSc in Finance & Investment from Imperial College and a Master in finance from Paris 1 Sorbonne University. He speaks English and French.
Hugo joined Metric Capital as an Investment Associate in January 2023.
Prior to joining Metric, he worked at Formentor Capital, a Spanish private equity focused on investing in mid-market companies in Spain & Portugal. Prior to that, Hugo worked as an off-cycle analyst at the M&A department in Alantra.
Hugo holds a double bachelor’s degree in business Administration and Law from IE University. He speaks English and Spanish.
Bill joined the Finance team at Metric in January 2022 as Fund Controller.
Prior to joining Metric, Bill was an Assistant Vice President at Citco Fund Services S.A Luxembourg for a private equity client. He also previously worked at Intertrust (Luxembourg) and Deutsche Bank (Mauritius) in fund services. Bill has nearly 6 years of experience in private equity fund administration across a range of clients.
Bill is a Chartered Certified Accountant and has been a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants for over 3 years now.
